About The Exhibition

Founded in 2016, Bangladesh Matchbox Collectors' Club (BMCC) is one of the leading international organisations of collectors and it has been working tirelessly to promote the hobby of matchbox and label collection among people home and abroad. 

Matchboxes used to be a part and parcel of everyday's life at a time. But with the advancement of science and technology, now matchboxes are on the verge of extinction. Matchboxes were not just a container of matchsticks to light fire, matchboxes were an amazing platform of miniature artworks. The miniature artworks used to represent the various aspects of a country which created enthusiasm among the people and thus started the hobby of phillumeny. Today there are not much collectors who collect matchboxes. To spread this amazing hobby and to preserve one of the finest inventions of human history, BMCC works with dedicated and hard-working collectors. 

BMCC started organising virtual international exhibition of matchboxes and labels from 2021 and BMCC is the first organisation in the history to arrange such an event. BMCC planned to continue the exhibition each year and therefore now it's time to observe one of the greatest shows of the earth for the second time.

The 2nd International Matchbox and Labels Exhibition 2022 is going to be colorful, glorious and mesmerizing with the marvellous collection of earnest and passionate matchbox collectors from 18 countries. It will be really very enthralling to view some century old boxes and labels which speak of different time, different era, different geography, different rulers and different culture. Besides some of the finest collectors of the world, a number of new and young collectors also participated in the event. Participating and observing such exhibition is very much important for the young collectors as well as the beginners. Such an exhibition will always help the beginners to develop presentation skills and  to gain knowledge.

BMCC cordially thanks every participants for their spontaneous participation. Without the participation of the respected collectors, this exhibition would not be successful. BMCC hopes the third international virtual phillumeny exhibition to be more colorful, variegated, disciplined and professional with the participation of many more collectors in near future.
